文东村在坭陂镇东部，户籍人口830人，共296户，耕地542亩；村内有三社、四社两处水库移民集居点。[2]

地名由来[edit]

这里原名赤联大队，旧时叫赤陷宝；因「赤」字带有劳苦的含义，改为「文」，又因位于镇的东片，称文东。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1919至1957年称文东乡，1958至1983年称文东大队，1983至1986年为文东乡政府，1986年起改称村委员会。[1]2019年9月，文东村被列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]

经济[edit]

村里东片种金桔，中部种水稻，西片种莲荷，另有金桔50多亩和林下养鸡；引进晟农生态田园综合体后，流转低洼荒地建成千亩荷塘。[2]
