永和社区是兴宁市永和镇的镇中心区，社区居委会设于1998年，镇名“永和”也出自这里的一则地名传说。[1]

地名由来[edit]

传说此地旧时居民相处融洽，后来有财主借姓氏之间争地的名头挑动械斗，百姓醒悟后报官，知县出面调处，争端才止，人们便取永久和睦之意，称此地为永和。[1]

建置[edit]

1998年成立社区居委会，名称沿用至今。[1]
