高南村在长田镇北部，县道X039线从村内经过。村内有5个村民小组，在册265户、987人，面积9平方千米，耕地870亩。[1][2]

村里种仙人草和青椒，养猪、养鸡；上一年农村经济总收入535万元。村里采取复耕荒田荒地、组织劳力外出务工等办法增加收入。[2]

地名由来与沿革[edit]

村名取自村内的高南自然村。[1]

民国时期，村中的瓜坪属热柘乡。新中国成立后，这里划入长田乡的高南村。1952年高南同长庆并作庆南乡，两年后单称高南乡；人民公社时期为高南大队。其后依次是：1983年复乡，1987年立村民委员会，1989年设管理区，1999年定名高南村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

高南村名列2019年9月公布的广东省2018年民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位。[1]
