长田村在长田镇的镇中心区，是全镇面积最大的村，国道206线从村里穿过。村内设15个村民小组，在册582户、2454人，总面积23平方千米，耕地2250亩。[1]
村的收入以优质稻为主，沙田柚是它的特色产业；村里记载的上一年农村经济总收入为1394万元，并组织富余劳力外出务工。[1]
地名由来与沿革[edit]
相传长江村新田陂附近有一片荒地，垦成农田约15亩，长约300米，叫作「百箩坵」，牛犁一遍要三天不必掉头，因此得名长田。[1]
建国之年这里叫长田乡，人民公社时期改设大队；改革开放后，1983年又恢复为乡，随后在1987年建立村民委员会。管理区的名称用于1989年，现名长田村民委员会定于1999年。[1]
荣誉[edit]
广东省2018年创建民主法治示范村（社区）的单位名单公布于2019年9月，长田村在列。[1]
