江南社区在江南街道东北角，北临沿江河堤，南至榕树塘一巷，东邻新闻路，西接梅江一路和法政路，面积约0.3平方公里。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年这里属龙坪大队辖区。1983年11月，南区办事处与江南人民公社合并，社区所属的江南委员会亦在此时设立；2002年改称江南社区居民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

辖区概况[edit]

辖区登记3440户、7482人，其中常住2755人（903户）；企事业单位9个，梅州日报印刷厂和市科协在其中；学校有小学1所，另有2所幼儿园。[2]
