新寮村是龙潭镇下辖的行政村，旧称上西溪，当地也叫“西溪”，所产西溪笋是龙门的土特产。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

新寮管理区的旧地名是上西溪，后改叫新寮；村委会驻地在新寮，村名由此而来。1949年9月，它隶属二区上沙乡；1953年至1960年，归龙华乡（公社）下的西溪村（大队）；1960年划入左潭公社，成立新寮大队。其后，从1984年3月起名为新寮乡，1989年10月改作新寮管理区，到1999年5月才用上现名。[1]

经济[edit]

据百度百科，西溪笋是丛生大头竹的嫩芽，新寮村竹林面积广，主要种甜竹。[3]镇概况页称，该村竹笋为西溪笋中的佳品，西溪笋已列入省“一乡一品”项目。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予该村「2021年广东省卫生村」称号；2019年9月，该村也在「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单中。[1]
