古洞村属博罗县柏塘镇。村子四面高山环绕，中间是一条山谷（当地叫洞），中心有一块鼓形平地，「鼓」谐音「古」，因而称古洞。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清朝时由博罗县苏州巡司署管辖，民国时隶第五区的四维乡。1949年后归柏塘区；1950到1957年划入平安乡，1958年并入平安人民公社，1983年归平安区。1986年在平安镇下成立古洞村管理区，1999年改称行政村，2003年平安镇并入柏塘镇，古洞随之归柏塘镇。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月公布的「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位中，有该地在列。[1]
