横岭村属博罗县柏塘镇。村子居于中间，两侧地势平坦、有河环绕，一条路向左直通象头山，另一条向右横过去连着广梅公路，故名横岭。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清朝时由博罗县苏州巡司署管辖，民国时隶第五区的四维乡。1949年后归柏塘区；1950到1957年称柏塘乡，1958年并入柏塘人民公社。1983年复设区，1986年区改为镇，此地随之归柏塘镇；1990年成立管理区，1999年定名横岭村民委员会。[1]
