城南社区是德城街道下辖的社区，辖区在街道南部，故名；面积0.5平方千米。[1] 2002年6月4日，街道命名该社区并报德庆县人民政府批准设立。[1]

社区获过「全国退管先进单位」「广东省民主法治示范社区」「肇庆市先进基层党组织」等称号，也是广东省首批「六好」平安和谐社区。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

社区内的横街民居是南北向的老街，南端在东豪路，北端在胜利东路，全长250米左右，清末到民国年间是县城里最热闹的一条街；清代中期分为谷墟街、回龙街、文会街，合称「三街」。街上今存10多座旧民居、庙宇和商铺楼宇，县政府于2001年公布它为文物保护单位。[2]
