茶山镇属广东省茂名市信宜市，位于市境北部，国道207线经过镇旁，被称为革命老区。镇辖1个社区和11个行政村，面积约104平方千米。[1][2]

镇名来自明代的茶叶生产；今天的主要产业是三华李。此茶山镇不是东莞市和株洲市醴陵市的同名镇。[1]

名称由来[edit]

博雅地名网记载，明代中期以前这一带盛产茶叶，居民多住在山上种茶，仅奇美石一带的茶园就有一万多亩；山腰上建了一条横街，专做茶叶的收购与销售，镇名由此而来。横街后来衰落了。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

地名资料说，此地晋代归端溪县，南北朝时归梁德羁縻县，隋归怀德羁縻县，五代归信义县，宋以后归信宜县。到清光绪十五年（1889年），设为信宜县的茶山甲。[3]

民国29年（1940年）为信宜县第三区的茶山乡。1949年11月改属第四区；1952年12月成为第九区（后称大樟区）的一部分；1957年1月设渤垌乡，次年5月又恢复茶山乡，秋季并入怀乡人民公社。1961年6月，渤垌、茶山各自成立人民公社，1963年冬两社合并，称茶山人民公社。其后1983年改社为区，1986年冬区改为乡，1992年建为镇。[3]

地理环境[edit]

茶山镇在信宜市北部。面积有两种说法：博雅地名网记约104平方千米，维基百科记100.87平方千米。[1][2][4] 另据博雅地名网，镇内山林约11万亩，林木蓄积量46万立方米。[2]

经济[edit]

镇上设有茶山、渤垌两处贸易市场。该网还称镇内矿产有金、铁、锡、磷、萤石、滑石、瓷土、花岗岩等十余种，工业包括小水电、采矿、石料加工、食品、竹木器和农副产品加工。[2]

农业以三华李为大宗：该网称全镇种植4万多亩，年产1万多吨，规模在粤西属最大之列。茶山同时是信宜市松脂和生姜的主要产地，松脂每年一千多吨，生姜约六千多吨。[2] 2020年8月，茶山镇以三华李列入广东省第二批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业镇名单。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2022年1月，茶山镇被命名为「2021年度广东省卫生城镇」。[1]
