丁堡镇在广东省茂名市信宜市的东南部，下辖1个社区和12个行政村，镇人民政府设在丁堡旧街[1]。镇域面积为81.49平方千米，2019年末户籍人口53700人[1]。镇名来自清初一位丁姓商人开设的店铺[3]；1957年立乡，1992年改建为镇[3]。

历史沿革[edit]

建制上，1957年先立丁堡乡，1958年并进东镇公社，三年后的1961年再分设为丁堡公社；其后1983年改称区，1986年恢复乡的名称，1992年建镇[3]。

2012年3月22日，镇上设立丁堡社区居民委员会[5]。截至2021年10月，全镇辖1个社区、12个行政村[1]。

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，清顺治年间，一位姓丁的商人来到巴山咀一带开店，卖纸宝蜡烛，人们称他“丁纸宝”，他的店叫“丁宝铺”；后来这里聚成集市，“宝”字改写为“堡”[3][4][4]。

地理环境[edit]

丁堡镇东邻白石镇、大成镇，南接水口镇和高州市，西面是东镇街道，并与207国道相连[1]；镇政府驻地距信宜市区8.7公里[3]。

人口[edit]

2019年末，全镇户籍人口53700人[1]；第七次全国人口普查（2020年）统计的常住人口为3.65万人，在信宜市各街道、乡镇中居第12位[3]。

经济[edit]

农业以水稻、番薯、木薯、玉米、花生和蔬菜为主，水果有荔枝、龙眼等；乡镇企业以石料加工为主，博雅地名网称丁堡为“石材之乡”[3]。据2019年的数字，镇内工业企业共45个，规模以上的有2个，另有8家营业面积超过50平方米的综合商店或超市[1]。

在广东省农业农村厅2021年9月公布的「第二批广东省一村一品、一镇一业专业村」中，镇内有四个村在列：古楼村（澳洲坚果）、铁炉村（百香果）、湾冲村和旺坑村（均为荔枝）[3]。

荣誉[edit]

丁堡镇于2022年1月被命名为「2021年度广东省卫生城镇」[3]。旺坑村与铁炉村在2019年12月一同列入「第一批国家森林乡村」[3]。
