宝圩镇在广东省茂名市化州市东北部，西面与播扬镇、那务镇相接，东面与高州市交界，辖区面积52.8平方千米，下设1个社区和10个行政村。[1]镇名取自镇东北的宝岭，山旁后来设圩，圩名成了镇名。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

宝圩乡始设于1932年（民国二十一年），到1957年3月前，曾分别划入化县的第七区、第三区、第二区、北区、第七区和第十一区，之后改由化州县直辖。[1][2]

此后的变化依次是：1958年9月并入播扬人民公社；1961年9月自立为宝圩人民公社，仍在播扬区下；1963年1月播扬区撤销，该社单独建制，驻宝圩。1983年10月公社改区，1987年2月区改为镇。[2]

地理环境[edit]

宝圩镇在化州市东北角，东邻高州市，北接北流市；镇政府的概况称，陵江和梅石公路在境内由南向北穿过，北宝公路则东西向横贯，镇域处于两省三市六镇之间的交通要冲，自称粤桂边境区域的贸易中心镇。[3]气候属亚热带季风气候。[1]

人口[edit]

2019年末，全镇户籍人口32052人。[1]第七次全国人口普查（2020年）统计的常住人口为1.92万人，在化州市各街道、乡镇中居第21位。[2]

经济[edit]

据镇政府的概况介绍，镇内以手套加工及手套里布辅料生产为主要工业，当时有手套加工厂41家、辅料厂13家，另有木材加工、水力发电、竹器、砖厂和沙石场等企业；农业以香蕉为主，同时种有蚕桑、荔枝、龙眼和瓜菜，并建有一座1万平方米的农贸综合市场。[3]2019年，全镇财政总收入2326.52万元，比上年同期增长62.32%。[1]

2026年3月，该镇入选「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」。[2]
