早年村里栽种了大量甘竹，村名取自这种竹子[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1963年，原甘竹大队与元岭大队合并；此后1983年成甘竹乡，1986年成农村管理区，1999年起称甘竹村民委员会[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2019年10月，甘竹村入选广东省卫生村名录[1]。
