南区社区位于石鼓镇镇区，是镇中心区的社区之一，1993年经镇政府批准设立居民委员会[1]。

名称由来[edit]

居民委员会在镇政府驻地的南面，故称南区[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

石鼓一带的建置前后经历区（1950年）、乡（1957年）、公社（1958年）和区（1983年）几个阶段，1986年11月28日撤区建镇，原区下的24个乡合为石鼓镇。南区居民委员会在1993年由镇政府批准设立[1]。
