田坪村属茂名市高州市平山镇，是该镇辖下的行政村[2]。村口有一口约15亩的鱼塘，从远处看像倒立在河边的仰面田螺，起初称“田螺坪”，后人简写为田平，今作田坪[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

村级建制的演变：1983年建乡，1986年起称农村管理区，1999年之后为村民委员会，沿用至今[1]。

2026年3月，该村被认定为「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」；2021年12月获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号[1]。该村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单，公布于2019年9月[1]。
