据博雅地名网所载，此村最初住的是植姓人家，叫植村，后来因村里的石头改称石村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1983年改为石村乡，1986年改称农村管理区；1999年从贺村分出，另设石村村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，石村被列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」；2021年12月，获「广东省卫生村」称号（广东省爱卫会，2021年12月）。[1]
