坡心镇在茂名市电白区的西北部，地处沙琅江平原。四至为：东林头镇、南七迳镇、西茂南区袂花镇、北羊角镇；面积52.54平方千米，2019年末户籍人口99110人。[1]下设一个社区和十七个行政村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网辑录，坡心一带在隋初归南巴县，大业年间南巴县并入连江县，唐武德年间复置南巴县后仍属之；宋开宝年间划归电白县，元、明两代分属下博乡的二都和三都，清代由沙琅巡检司管辖，光绪年间改称正村堡。[3]

民国年间，辖境先属第六区的镇龙乡，另一部分属第八区的五和乡；1941年正村、镇龙两乡合并为正龙乡，另有山和乡。1949年11月，五和、正龙两乡都归第三区（水东）；到1953年3月，划给第八区（七迳）和第九区（羊角）两处；1957年3月，设坡心、山寮、潭莲等几个中乡；次年4月并成坡心大乡，9月又归入卫星公社；至1959年10月，坡心单独设公社。[3]

公社在1983年11月改制为区，1987年4月又改建制镇。[1][3]2001年7月转属茂名市茂港区；2014年4月，茂港区同电白县合并成电白区，坡心镇也就归入电白区。[1][3]到2021年10月，下辖社区1个、行政村17个。[1]

地名由来[edit]

博雅地名网说，镇址四周有后坡、大化坡、卖柴坡几处坡地，镇处在它们的中间，因此叫作坡心。[2]

地理环境[edit]

坡心镇在沙琅江平原上，地势东南稍高、西北较低。沙琅江自南向西流过境内10个村委会，河段长约13公里，两岸土地肥沃，河床宽，沙资源多；全镇年均气温22.6摄氏度，年降水量1768毫米。[2]沙琅江是鉴江的支流，发源于电白区那霍镇，途经沙琅、霞洞等镇，在林头之后进入坡心，再往七迳、小良方向，终入鉴江。[4]

经济[edit]

据百度百科，2019年全镇有工业企业37家，其中规模以上企业5家；另有营业面积超50平方米的综合商店、超市21家。[1]镇内各村的主要作物，据博雅地名网所载，山寮村和清河村种四季豆、茄瓜、玉米，正村种花生、玉米和北运菜，盐仓村种荔枝、龙眼。[5][6][7][8]

荣誉[edit]

2022年1月，坡心镇获「2021年度广东省卫生城镇」命名；2026年3月，入选「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」。[2]
