镇东村是广东省茂名市电白区水东街道下辖的行政村，下分12个村民小组，人口3524人（在册562户）。村委会的前身，1958年称坡仔生产大队，1987年起称镇东村委会。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，此地1953年叫彭乡；1958年成为坡仔生产大队；1987年定名镇东村委会，1989年一度叫管理区，1999年又改回村委会，名称至今未变。[1]

村情资料载：全村总面积1平方千米，耕地534亩，主要种花生、水稻和蔬菜，养生猪；措施包括引导农民改种效益较高的经济作物、加强文体设施建设，电子加工业则被称为龙头产业。资料未注明年份。[1]
