历史沿革[edit]
1958年起称水潭大队，1983年改为水潭乡，1985年成立村委会，1989年改称管理区，1999年复称村委会[1]。官江村、那罗村、新屋村在1950年代曾先后隶属水潭[1][2][3]。
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，水潭村名列「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单；2026年3月，村被认定为「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」[1]。
名胜古迹[edit]
水潭吴氏大宗祠在村内，占地1200平方米；祠左为占地约360平方米的长房小宗祠，祠右为占地约400平方米的道南公祠。博雅地名网称该祠距今有300多年历史[1]。
