城区社区是黄坡镇的镇中心区，黄坡镇人民政府驻在这里[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

社区得名于居委会设在黄坡镇城区。1949年至1957年称城区乡，1958年改为城区大队，1983年恢复乡的建制，1986年起改设居委会[1]。

文化教育[edit]

川西中学在黄坡镇城区西边，东临鉴水，南近鉴西河，前身是道光十七年（1837年）创办的川西书院；1940年起招初中，1943年增设高中，成为完全中学，1988年恢复现名[3][4]。
