下仓社区是长岐镇镇政府所在的社区，北面与化州市接壤，位于吴川市区以北约10公里，博雅地名网写作“下苍社区”[1]。有李下苍、孙下苍、张下苍、谢下苍、上斜尾、下斜尾6条自然村，面积约0.8平方公里，常住人口2128人[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

据说宋淳熙年间，长岐圩一带排着几座大粮仓，最末一座就在此地，因此得名下仓；后来孙、李、张、谢等姓陆续迁入，各自立村，同名的下仓便按姓氏区分[1]。建制几经变动：50年代初归多曹乡，1959年划入樟乡，1961年成下仓大队；1983年改乡，1987年叫新凤居委会，此后做过管理区（1988年至1998年）和村委会（1999年至2002年），到2003年6月定为下仓社区居委会[1]。

地理与经济[edit]

村落沿公路东侧延伸，梅化公路与鉴江都经过此地；多数居民从事商业和手工业[1]。2019年9月，下仓社区被列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」[1]。
