覃斗镇是广东省湛江市雷州市下辖的镇，位于雷州市西南部，濒临北部湾东岸，镇政府设在覃斗圩。[1]镇名取自政府驻地覃斗圩。[2]2021年10月底全镇设1个社区、19个行政村。[1]珍珠养殖和芒果种植是当地的两项主要产业。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

解放初期，镇境归海康县第十九区管。[1]此后建制数变：覃斗乡成立于1957年，次年划入东方红公社，1984年3月成为覃斗区公所，1987年4月恢复为乡，直到1988年才改名为镇。[4]

地理环境[edit]

覃斗镇东邻英利镇，西接乌石镇，北靠北和镇，南面与徐闻县交界。[1]镇政府距雷州市区约69千米（百度百科所载；博雅地名网载为距雷城62公里）。[1][2]面积有两种记载：百度百科作104平方千米；博雅地名网的镇概况作93.93平方公里，并称耕地3万余亩。[1][2]气候属亚热带季风气候。[1]

第七次全国人口普查（标准时点2020年11月1日）登记的常住人口为39735人。[1]博雅地名网另载一个较早的数字：38596人，分属18个管理区、68个自然村。[2]

经济[edit]

博雅地名网所载的镇概况称，当地以珍珠养殖和芒果种植见长。珍珠方面，养珠专业村22个，家庭养殖场2541户，水面2300多亩，年产2.8吨，按该页说法约占全国三分之一，部分外销日本；另有加工厂157间、珍珠苗繁育场257个。[2]覃斗芒果因主产于本镇而得名，2005年8月25日原国家质检总局批准对其实施地理标志产品保护。[3]

2019年的工业企业共5家，3家达规模以上。[1]荣誉方面：2020年8月，覃斗镇（芒果）列入「第二批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业镇」；2024年3月被命名为「2023年广东省卫生乡镇」；2025年5月入选「广东省“百千万工程”第二批专业镇」建设名单。[4]
