英岭村是广东省湛江市雷州市覃斗镇下辖的行政村，原名鹰岭村，相传因旧时丘陵灌木丛中常有鹰鸟栖息而得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网所载，明正德年间该村先人由福建莆田迁到遂溪县乐民城双村，后又迁到今址。当地原是灌木丛生的丘陵，常有鹰鸟栖息，故称鹰岭村，后写作英岭村。此后的建制是：1952年英岭大队，1983年英山岭，1987年2月村委会，1989年管理区，1999年村民委员会。[1]
