历史沿革[edit]

村名来历：古时此地设有驿站，行人在这里歇脚，先民便把原来的村名“昔安”改成“息安”[1]。

1960年设息安公社，1962年改为息安大队，1983年为息安乡，1987年称管理区，1999年定名息安村委会[1]。

文化[edit]

  • 2022年9月，认定为「2022年湛江市文明村」[1]
  • 2019年9月，列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」[1]

经济[edit]

村委会设在息安圩。息安圩形成于明代，车板镇、营仔镇和青平镇不少居民都来这里赶集，以海鲜著称。村里以种水稻为主，也种水果，并有高岭土。[1]
