历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历：据村名由来的说法，先祖从廉江城东街迁来时，靠一辆木制大马车装运行李，后人便以“大车”立村名；村委会以辖内的大车村命名。[1]

建制沿革：解放初期归那楼乡管辖；人民公社时期的1961年建大队，起初借大车新祠堂办公，1974年搬到龙尾村新落成的办公楼；其后1983年立乡，1987年设管理区，1999年为村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2022年湛江市文明村（2022年9月认定）。[1]
