历史沿革[edit]

河头乡设于1950年，1953年办初级社，1955年转高级社，1959年改设河头大队；其后1983年重称河头乡，1986年起为村民委员会，1989年改称管理区，直到1999年恢复村民委员会至今[1]。

2019年9月，河头村名列广东省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位[1]。2023年5月，村内的坡仔甲村获广东省爱国卫生运动委员会授予2022年广东省卫生村称号[1]。
