历史沿革[edit]

建制变迁：1950年为赤头乡，1953年起先后为赤头初级社、高级社，1958年编为西溪大队，1983年改西溪乡，1986年设村委会，1989年称管理区，1999年改称西溪村民委员会。[1]

近年的荣誉与称号如下。[1]

  • 2021年1月入选湛江市「2020年度全市文明村」名单。[1]
  • 2023年5月，该村所辖的石九村获广东省爱国卫生运动委员会授予「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
