名称来历：办事处设在南门圩，由此得名。[1]
建制变迁：起初叫南门市，1950年立南门圩乡，此后经初级社、高级社，到1958年成为南门圩大队，1983年设管理区，1986年改居委会，1989年复为管理区，1999年改居民委员会，2002年起称南门圩社区居民委员会。[1]
