三和社区是湛江市赤坎区中山街道下辖的社区，2002年4月成立，位于赤坎的商业中心，面积约1.2平方千米[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

社区的前身是1980年设立的三和大队，之后依次是1983年的三和乡、1986年的三和居委会和1989年的三和管理区；2002年恢复为居委会，沿用至今[1]。据博雅地名网，“三和”取和谐、和美、祥和之意，盼居民和气相处、和气生财[1]。

地理环境[edit]

辖区分中兴、三和、南兴、大通、平安、福建、高州7个片区，有大街小巷38条，主要的路有中山二路、三和街、中兴街[2]。社区介绍写有居民总人口11720人、3258户[2]。6个机关事业单位设在辖区：幼儿院和中学、小学各一所，另有赤坎区中医院、区工人文化宫、中山派出所，其中小学是湛江市第四小学[2]。

名胜古迹[edit]

社区的介绍说，这里巷多地窄，是赤坎古商埠的发祥地，保存着古渡头、古井、古庙、老街和会馆，还有革命先驱的旧居[2]。2019年9月，社区入选「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单[1]。
