历史沿革[edit]
古劳（龙溪）一带早年是滩涂和水泽。据博雅地名网所载村志，宋咸淳年间（约1265年）先民自南雄珠玑巷南迁立村；明洪武年间，乡贤冯八秀奉旨回乡修筑堤围，后来这条堤围成为抵御西江洪水的大堤[1]。鹤山市政府网站则把修围时间记为洪武二十七年（1394年）[3]。村口一带有“龙溪首第”和“镇南楼”等标志性建筑[1]。
1958年设古劳大队，1983年称古劳乡，1986年改称古劳管理区，1998年起称古劳村民委员会[1]。
人口经济[edit]
自然村共13条，东便、五星、向东、五一、五四、赤岗、大巷、田边、红星、东方红、横一、太平、四一都在其内。2008年前后的数据：耕地470亩，鱼塘1340亩，人口2661人；人均收入5900元，全村工农业总产值为25600万元；旅居海外和港澳的乡亲有2705人。村内设有龙溪学校[1]。
名胜古迹[edit]
东便坊的梁赞故居占地664平方米，设寝居室、拜师堂、荣生堂医馆和传承馆；旁边的梁赞文化公园立有梁赞铜像和咏春招式铜像[2]。梁赞原名梁德荣，生于龙溪东便坊，晚年回乡传拳[3]。
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，古劳村名列2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位；2023年5月，获评2022年度广东省卫生村；2026年1月，进入广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村名单[1]。
