昆东村是广东省江门市鹤山市雅瑶镇下辖的行政村，在镇区西北，离雅瑶圩一公里多，村委会驻平冈。[1]中共鹤山支部1924年在平冈的宋氏大宗祠成立，宗祠是中共鹤山支部旧址。[1][2]2026年1月，昆东村获评广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所载村情，平冈在南宋绍兴元年（1131年）有宋姓先民由南雄迁新会松朗，再迁来定居。清康熙三年（1664年），村人提议建平冈圩，后因离雅瑶圩近而衰落，只剩几间店铺。[1]

1924年11月中共鹤山支部在平冈成立；1927年10月鹤山县苏维埃政府设在宋氏大宗祠，推选当地爱国民主人士宋森任主席。[1]1957年撤区并乡，昆东乡政府设在昆东书院；1958年称昆东大队，1969年与昆明大队合并；1983年称昆东乡，1986年改为村民委员会。[1]2002年三峡库区移民28户迁到小江的矮山建村，称昆安新村。[1]

地理环境与人口[edit]

江沙公路和佛开高速公路各从村境穿过，昆东至南靖的公路由此起点；雅瑶河流经那水、小江、泊步等自然村。[1]全村辖14条自然村，总面积14363.7亩，耕地2101亩、鱼塘610亩；条目载人口3888人，华侨、港澳同胞3669人，建有昆东小学，校内设宋森图书馆。[1]

经济[edit]

主要种水稻和蔬菜，村前屋后的剑花也有特色。[1]昆东村纳入“百县千镇万村高质量发展工程”的典型村建设，2024年做了人居环境整治和农房风貌提升。[3][4]

名胜古迹[edit]

宋氏大宗祠为砖木结构，占地建筑面积625.5平方米，清顺治十五年（1658年）动工，是中共鹤山支部和鹤山县苏维埃政府的旧址。[2]大桥坊的“节孝流芳”牌坊于2006年8月公布为第4批文物保护单位，立于清嘉庆十一年（1806年），为旌表宋明俦之妻胡氏而建，四柱三间三楼，通面阔6.4米。[2][5]村里另有宋氏立轩祖祠（赤龙村，清道光年间建）和小江的晋代古墓，直水的香泉岭近年成为镇里的旅游点。[1][5]
