岛桥村在双水镇西南部，距镇府6公里，三面被小河环绕如一座小岛，东南有一座石拱桥连接两岸，村名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

元末明初，谭姓先祖自开平龙塘迁来，在这里建村。[1] 民国时属第七区九联乡，解放初归蓢头乡，其后先并入三联乡、再划归蓢头管理区（1958年），1961年单设岛桥大队；1984年，原属蓢头大队的龙安队并了进来，岛桥乡由此合成，村委会之名则从1986年起使用。[1] 2004年，罗湾村并入，仍称岛桥村委会。[1]

经济[edit]

村内设10个村民小组，面积2.5平方千米，有529户、1600人，耕地1884亩，包括水稻1570亩、鱼塘314亩。[1] 村中有多家企业的厂房，其中有江门杰富意磁性材料有限公司，以及获「放心米」称号的罗湾精米厂。[1] 镇里的规划把岛桥村这类靠近双水镇站的村庄列为布局物流产业的区域。[2]
