北水村在双水镇小冈圩西南1.5公里处，村中有一条小河，河上有跃龙桥，村在河的北面，故名。[1] 村民世代以制香为传统手工业。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村里的来历与南水村相同：南宋景炎年间，戴姓先祖从南雄珠玑巷迁到南海，明洪武初年再迁到衙前大鹰山下。[1] 民国时属第六区潭冈乡，1951年起属天式乡，1955年属罗坑区，之后属天式管理区，1959年单设北水大队，1961年隶小冈人民公社，1980年代改乡、改村民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

村内设10个村民小组，面积2.5平方千米，有436户、1480人，耕地1548亩，其中水稻1340亩、鱼塘208亩。[1] 资料记2008年人均收入6653元，村集体收入16万元，党支部有党员44人。[1]
