衙前村在双水镇西北部，东面到会城，南面是岭头，西面是南水，北面是梅冈。[1] 这里原是宋代义宁县的县治旧址，民居建在昔日县衙前面，故名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

南宋咸淳年间（1265年—1274年），梁姓先祖从会城迁来立村；道光县志记衙前为梁姓。[1] 从民国到1957年属小冈乡，1958年并入梅江管理区，1961年单设衙前大队，隶小冈人民公社，1980年代改乡、改村委会，2002年1月划入双水镇。[1]

经济[edit]

村域面积4平方千米，人口3010人，其中劳动力1887人，设12个村民小组，耕地2163亩。[1] 主要工业是卫生香制造和造纸。[1]
