上凌村在双水镇西南面的山区，面积22平方千米，下设21个村民小组，山林面积较大。[1] 村名来自凌山（今称象山）旁的上凌涌。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

元末明初（1339年—1369年），谭姓十二世彦实只身从开平龙塘来这里立村。[1] 明万历县志已记有凌涌村，清康熙县志作上、下凌（涌）冲村。[1] 民国时属第七区双凌乡，1951年立上凌乡，1957年并入天亭乡，1958年起称上凌管理区，1959年为大队；此后改乡、改村委会，1999年起称上凌村委会。[1]

经济[edit]

村里有耕地3800多亩，林地达21789亩，生态公益林13962亩就在其中，另有中型水库1座、小型水库2座。[1] 村内建有时年小学（1988年）、上凌光超中学（1990年），均得到谭时年家族资助；2008年谭氏祖祠重修。[1] 将军山和增坑水库一带是村里的自然景区。[1] 上凌村是第一批国家森林乡村之一，2019年12月公布。[1]
