石名村是江门市新会区司前镇的行政村，在镇的西部，面积8.5平方千米，户籍人口4551人，分21个村民小组，暂住人口约2350人[1]。关于村名，说法是当地的石头既多又大[1]。

据百度百科，邓姓先祖在南宋咸淳年间南迁，在此落户；民国时才设石名小乡，其后辖区几经调整，2009年恢复称石名村委会，沿用至今[1]。

经济[edit]

村里耕地约864亩，另有鱼塘、果园和山林；村内有工业企业28家[1]。

文化[edit]

石名村以夜鱼出名，村里的夜鱼档有20多家；司前夜鱼的做法被当地视为饮食文化的一项特色[1][2]。
