平地社区由平地村改设，在大沥镇中部，广佛公路北侧，面积2.67平方公里；道头、泗沥、麦边、黄边、东约、新基、义基、平地、华村九条自然村在其辖下。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据《平地村志》，平地黄氏的始祖黄适中南宋末年为官，后来定居平地建村，迄今八百余年。[2]

人口民族[edit]

常住约八千七百人。[1]

经济[edit]

2009年工农业总产值约23.1亿元，村社两级纯收入4720万元；工业产值10.04亿元，产品有注塑机、电器、鞋类、灯饰、机械、内衣，农业以蔬菜和花卉为主。[1]

村里兴办了布匹市场、纺织中心、华发商业广场和“华辉花园”商住楼；平地小学2005年评为广东省一级学校。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

平地黄氏大宗祠又称“花祠堂”，在平地村新市大街三号，坐北向南，三间三进，占地约1342.8平方米；明代始建，乾隆二十年（1755年）迁建，2008年列为广东省文物保护单位。[3]
