莲上镇是广东省汕头市澄海区的建制镇，位于区境中部偏东北，东面临海，南邻莲下镇，北与溪南镇相接，西靠南峙山，下辖永新、涂城、竹林、兰苑、上巷、南徽、盛洲、里美8个行政村，镇政府设在涂城村。[1][2]
镇名来自旧时的「莲阳」：清代莲阳分上、中、下三社，镇域大部分属上社。[2] 镇内国道324线与安澄公路穿过，工业以塑料玩具、工艺品、造纸等为主，同时是粤东的蔬菜集散地之一。[3]
历史沿革[edit]
镇域在北宋时已有人居住，早先是南洋的一部分，因地处莲峰之南、原为海域而称南洋；清代改称莲阳，分上、中、下三社。[2][4] 澄海置县之前，这里先后归揭阳、海阳、饶平三县管辖；置县后，明清时属澄海县苏湾都。[4]
新中国成立后，莲上先属苏南区。1956年起分属莲阳上乡、莲阳下乡，1958年纳入苏南公社，1968年又随公社并入东方红公社。[4] 1972年底单独设立莲上公社，1984年初政社分开，公社改为莲上区，1987年初区撤销，改设莲上镇。[4] 澄海在1994年由县改市，莲上镇随之属澄海市；2003年5月澄海市改为汕头市澄海区，镇便归澄海区管辖。[4]

百度百科记2019年末户籍人口6万人；博雅地名网载第七次全国人口普查（2020年）统计为5.84万人，居澄海区各街道乡镇第8位。[1][2] 维基百科记户籍人口5.3万人。[5] 各处统计口径和年份不同。
经济[edit]
据博雅地名网转录的镇概况，2002年全镇生产总值约5.3亿元，工农业合计产值17.8亿元，工业占16.8亿元，农民人均收入为5265元。[3] 镇内的莲南工业区占地6200亩，是澄海区重点工业区之一；产业分为食品加工、毛织服装、造纸、五金塑胶和工艺玩具五大类，当时全镇有企业300多家，并有台商投资。[3] 农业方面，涂城村注册了「塔农」牌蔬菜商标，镇域蔬菜种植面积6500亩。[3]
百度百科记2019年全镇工业总产值49.68亿元，农业总产值5.68亿元，本级一般公共预算收入为3559万元；全镇共1563家工业企业，规模以上的占48家。[1] 阿里研究院2020年起连续公布的淘宝镇名单中都有莲上镇，永新、涂城、竹林、兰苑、上巷、南徽、盛洲等村同被列入淘宝村。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
塔山古寺在涂城村的塔山上，建于南宋的绍兴二年（公元1132年），山上有奇石形似宝塔，山与寺因此得名。寺院历代重修，1958年因修水库被淹没，1987至1989年在原址附近重建，1992年列为澄海市文物保护单位（公布日期为12月3日）。[6][7] 景区内有十三亭、九路、四桥、七牌坊和三十二处奇石，寺内存元至元五年（1268年）的石观音坐像。[6]
名贤余氏家庙在永新村，为纪念北宋余靖而建，是广东省文物保护单位。[8] 里美村内有报福寺，1984年重修。[9]
