上南社区是汕头市潮南区井都镇下辖的社区，南临南海，面积5.789平方公里，共2204户、12274人。[1]社区由上店、南厝两个村合并而成，各取一字得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，村子立于明洪武年间（1368年至1398年），郑氏祖先从福建迁来。[1]明、清至民国初年隶属潮阳县黄陇都，1921年划归潮阳县第九区。新中国成立初期，上店与南厝都归井都乡，人民公社时期为上南大队，其后在1983年作上南乡，到1986年改设居委会，1992年一度并入管理区，1999年复归旧制。[1]

经济[edit]

上南是一个传统的蔬菜种植村，种植面积约2000亩，建有占地2000亩的无公害蔬菜生产基地，是汕头市“菜篮子”工程的主要蔬菜供应基地之一，也是国家无公害蔬菜生产认证点，并创立了“上南蔬菜”品牌。[2]2020年8月，上南社区列入首批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村（蔬菜）。[1]
