寨外村是汕头市潮阳区金浦街道的行政村，东接潮阳城区，西与南门村相邻，前临练江，国道324线穿过。全村5.6平方公里，2469户、14569人，分40个居民小组（据博雅地名网，未注明年份）。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村名因位于金浦村寨之外而来。[1]明清至民国初，先属县廓都，后属附廓都。1953年为寨外乡，1958年为大队，1986年为村委会，1991年为管理区办事处，1994年起属金浦街道，1999年定为村民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

村有耕地约1192.9亩、山林1730亩（含鱼池350亩），村民务农或做工。村内较大的企业有13家，如烟草薄片公司、铝合金型材厂，商铺档口百余个，另有集贸市场一处。[2]

文化[edit]

村有学校一所，建筑面积8440平方米，可容2700名学生；群众文化活动中心设有可容两千多名观众的剧台，并有老人理事会、农家书屋、图书室。[2]
