三堡是金浦街道的社区，街道办事处就设在这里，位于街道的中心地段。社区占地约8.35平方公里，有耕地2180亩、山林6000亩，约2950户、15973人（据博雅地名网所载，未注明年份）。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，郑氏祖先在南宋中期（宝庆至景定间，1225—1264年）迁居于此，最初叫深浦村；乾隆朝（1736—1795年）经同乡知府郑之侨提议，改名金浦村，其下分出寨外、南门、三堡三个聚落，三堡的称呼延续至今。[1]另一种说法是，金浦自宋初（960年）立寨，后分寨内、寨外两乡，寨内又分为三堡、南门两村，故名三堡。[1]

经济[edit]

社区发展三高农业，省无公害蔬菜基地落在这里，蔬菜种植面积近千亩。[2]

文化[edit]

社区内有金堡中学，系郑开德捐资一亿多元兴建，占地160亩，评为省一级学校；潮阳区职业技术学院于2010年9月开学，占地300亩，也在三堡。[2]2009年，三堡社区被评为省「六好」文明社区。[2]
