西墩社区是广东省汕头市濠江区达濠街道辖下的社区居委会，与达濠城区相连，南临濠江，与马滘隔江相望。原是濠江中的沙洲，在达濠之西，初名西坉，方言中「坉」与「堆」同音而写作西堆，后演变为西墩。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明正统年间（1436—1450年），邱姓先民在村东筑屋定居。1946至1949年间归潮阳县第三区的珠园乡，到1956年单立一乡，1957年属达濠镇，1984年4月设西堆乡。1999年6月15日，达濠区人民政府发文撤销管理区、设立西墩居民委员会；2003年起属濠江区达濠街道。[2]

地理环境[edit]

社区面积2.7平方千米；村北山地与达隆山地以分水岭为界，北有磊广公路（S337）东西穿过，村东有濠江大桥连通南北。[1]

人口民族[edit]

2007年底全村550户、3077人（外迁人口不计）。[1]

经济[edit]

原以农业、盐业为主，现趋城市化，建筑业兴起，商业渐盛。[1]
