社区因所辖为水仙园住宅区而得名。[1]早期隶属金园区东厦街道，2003年3月重划区划，改归金平区金厦街道，2019年划入金东街道。[1]

地理环境[edit]

西起百花路，东至金环南路，北抵百花东巷，南邻金湖路，面积0.063平方千米，辖5个居民小组。[1]
