北墩社区是汕头市金平区金东街道所辖社区，由旧时的北墩村演变而来，居委会驻北墩长沟北路一巷7号。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，村民在元末从闽南迁来建村。解放前北墩与南墩合为东墩乡，北墩一带称北畔；1951年11月东墩乡拆分为北墩乡和南墩乡，「北墩」之名由此而来。1985年起设北墩居委会，2002年1月居委设置变动，原北墩居委和北华居委的一部分合并；2003年3月属东墩街道，2019年划入金东街道。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

西起韩江支流梅溪，东至汕樟路，北抵梅溪水利，南邻金丰居委辖区，面积0.78平方千米，辖16个居民小组。居民住宅楼多为六至八层，另有金裕园、香樟美地、新亚工业城等。[1][2]

人口民族[edit]

据博雅地名网，共有1553户、5725人，居民现以张、黄、徐、林四姓为主。[1][2]

经济[edit]

近年大部分土地转为城市建设用地，村民以从事工副业为主；农业以蔬果为主，特产为东墩菜豆。[1][2]

文化[edit]

区内设有春苗学校；境内有三山国王庙，博雅地名网称之为古迹。[2]
