下岐是汕头市金平区岐山街道下辖的社区，位于街道最南端，由东楼、李厝、张厝下三个自然村组成，辖区约2平方公里[1][2]。

地名由来[edit]

因位于岐山一带的最南部，地势在其中最低，得名“下岐”[1]。陇头社区一带的说法，是从陇头到下岐沿岐山龙一乡接一乡，合称“十社”[3]。

地理与人口[edit]

梅溪河是社区的东界，西港河在西，北面与南楼社区和岐山路相接，南面是新乡、大窖两个社区。社区简介记有6062名常住居民、1447户人家；居民多靠打工和经商谋生，集体收入则来自自用地与厂房的出租承包[2]。潮汕路、护堤路由南向北通过，金凤路由东向西横贯[2]。

经济与设施[edit]

辖区内有汕头市机动车辆交易市场和汕头市香江家居，是粤东规模较大的专业市场[2]。社区拿出1095万元，把主要道路改铺为水泥路面，又兴建东楼综合市场与下岐市场。学校是下岐报本小学；东楼、李厝、张厝三村各有敬老室，报本敬老活动中心还被区里定为下岐社区的文化广场[2]。
