沟湖是汕头市金平区岐山街道的社区，位于韩江下游北岸，面积0.25平方公里，距汕头市区约3公里，原名沟边村[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

据简介，沟湖约在南宋末年立村，祖先来自揭阳渡头乡，见此处是海滩，可捕鱼晒盐，又有一脉沙陇可搭寮栖身，便定居下来。南宋时属澄邑，元、明年间归蓬洲都，清代后划入澄海县鸥汀区，新中国成立后并入鮀浦区；1961年归汕头市郊区岐山人民公社，为中岐大队下的一个自然村；1986年归岐山镇人民政府，1997年归岐山街道；到1998年12月，中岐居委撤销，沟湖居委会随之成立，2003年又改为社区居委会[1][2][3]。

地名由来[edit]

村前韩江老溪的一段叫东瓜沟，村址在沟边，所以叫沟边村。清末韩江改道，东瓜沟划入河床，村四周又有十多处池塘，水面如湖，村名便改作沟湖[2]。简介记，2010年社区集体收入120万元，人均3600元[2]。
