金新社区是汕头市金平区金砂街道下辖的社区，居委会设在新厦路3号，辖4个居民小组。[1][2]因位于金新路而得名。[1]

社区原先归金园区金砂街道；2003年3月调整区划后，由金砂街道管辖。[1]

地理与人口[edit]

社区面积只有0.07平方千米，在金平区人民政府驻地西北约0.34千米，是十个社区中离区政府最近的一个。东面是东厦路，西面是金新路，南到新厦路，北面连着汕头电机厂宿舍。博雅地名网记有1384户、5441人；汕头日报社、汕头电机厂、区妇幼保健院都设在社区内，金新路、东厦路、金砂路为主要干道。[1][2]
