地名由来[edit]
相传500多年前，三户渔民最先到岛上定居，在观音山顶的大石头旁见到兰花，起名“高兰”。清光绪《广州府志》形容此地“五峰杰竖如指”，山谷多兰。因岛屿四面环水，“兰”后来换成“澜”。另一说是岛上最高的观音山呈南北走向，能挡住细沙湾的飞沙，使其不向西侵袭，所以又称“高拦”；因同音，最终写成今天的“高栏”。[1]
建制沿革[edit]
高栏人民公社成立于1950年，次年称高栏乡；1982年建乡人民政府，1984年改名高栏村委会，名称一直用到现在。[1]2019年9月公布的2018年度广东省民主法治示范村（社区）的创建对象中，有高栏村。[1]
