村落与习俗[edit]
1878年因人口迁入而成村，居民主要姓陈、钟、张。早期以农业为主，兼养鱼和生蚝，至今保留正月初八“开灯”的习俗。[1]
建制沿革[edit]
1960年建乡，沙白石、铜牛钉、荷包围、西坑四条自然村合组乡人民政府；1984年撤乡建村委会，沿用至今。[1]2019年9月，该村名列2018年度广东省民主法治示范村（社区）的创建对象。[1]
