斗门社区在珠海市斗门区斗门镇中心，居委会设在民主街，是斗门圩所在的街区。辖区自龙山路口延伸到御温泉一带，约1.5平方千米。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

辖区的街巷有民主街、大马路、二马路和和风南北街，也包括斗门大道沿线与南村一带。[2]

人口民族[edit]

户籍人口为2540人。留在社区里的以中老年人和小孩居多，青壮年多到外地谋生；辖区内工业园区另有六千三百名左右的外来务工者。[2]

经济[edit]

社区里的单位和商铺超过两百家，住宅小区有两个。[2]

文化[edit]

社区居委会设有党支部两个，其中居民党支部党员72人（含预备党员3人），另有37人的志愿联络员队伍，每人联系10至30户居民。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

斗门旧街（又称斗门古街）在虎跳门水道西侧，北起风流桥头，南至民主街，约1千米长、7.5米宽，明嘉靖年间已成集市，清雍正十一年（1733年）趋于繁盛，到民国21年（1932年）重建。[3] 博雅地名网引述的另一说法是街长500多米：鸦片战争后，镇上常有船往来香港、澳门、江门、石岐、广州，每逢农历二、五、八的墟日，圩内车水马龙。[1]

按社区自己的介绍，镇里创建文化名镇时把古街修复列为重点，社区因而成了串起御温泉、旅游大道、南方影视基地三个景点的枢纽。[2] 斗门旧街在2008年入选「斗门八景」。[4]

名称由来[edit]

「斗门」一名有两种解释：一是斗门村三面环山，形状像一只庳斗（古代量具），斗口朝着虎跳门水道；二是此地位于几条水流汇合的出口，像古代的水利设施「斗门」（陡门）。[1]
